What medium do you use to paint with and why?

I only use oil or oil on an acrylic background. I find oil a more forgiving medium than acrylic, even though acrylic is easier to clean up. 

How long have you been painting?

Only a couple of years. 

What motivated you to start painting?

I was diagnosed with CPTSD and I found painting quieted my mind and brought me peace. I hope others find the same thing in my work. 

What can you tell us about your first painting?

I remember taking it to a friend who was an artist and he told me "if it wasn't for this one inch square on this painting I would tell you to never do this again."
